Onwalls is a collection of Daniel O’Connor’s paintings. Danny comes from graffiti/street art back ground but is also influenced by surf, travel, culture, www. and ……Waste Management!
Paintings are created using free hand, projections and stencilling along with oils, acrylics, spray paint, plaster and the mighty marker pen.
Danny has worked in Waste Management and recycling since graduating from Newcastle and Hull Universities. This exposure to waste issues has fostered a unique approach to producing canvasses.
Unless otherwise stated all paintings are produced on items which have functioned as something else in a previous life…so that kitchen cupboards or stripped down doors become the base to create a blank canvass.
Canvasses are sealed and muslin is stretched upon the surface. This creates a paintable surface and unique canvas. As well as looking wicked on your wall this technique also means that we divert the door, board (or whatever it used to be) from landfill.
Paintings are also produced on traditional stretched block canvass where stated or requested.
Commissions are welcome and can incorporate any of the styles techniques and/or colours you see throughout this website.
